About the case

Plaintiffs allege that the ZF-TRW airbag control units in certain Toyota vehicles are vulnerable to a condition called electrical overstress, which may cause the vehicles' airbags and other safety features to fail during a collision. Toyota denies the allegations but agreed to the settlement to resolve the case. The Court granted final approval on November 28, 2023, and an appeal was dismissed on December 11, 2025.
